THE OPPORTUNITY

SEE Group have a great career opportunity available for a Civil Estimator to join our highly professional and skilled Pre-Contracts team. This opportunity is ideally suited to an Estimator with some previous urban experience or a Site/Project Engineer looking for a change of career path, and a move into an office-based role with traditional office hours. This is a full-time role based in Helensvale on the northern end of the Gold Coast. There is the opportunity to work from home one day a week.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Previous estimating or engineering experience on Civil industry projects.
  • Experience and understanding of multidiscipline projects (Civil, mechanical, electrical).
  • Knowledge of subcontractors within the construction space.
  • Proven management skills, practices and planning ability.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and maintaining focus on priorities.
  • Highly effective skills in negotiating, evaluating and administering contracts, specifications, Australian standards.
  • A strong team player with the ability to work to strict timelines.
  • Previous experience with Expert Estimation will be beneficial however training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the preparation of civil cost estimates for construction projects or engineering services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of construction or service. You will evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that all information is reviewed to successfully bid and win the project. You will work closely with the Project Management teams to ensure construction methodologies are considered and priced accordingly.
