Description:

Goldberg Segalla, a dynamic and rapidly growing law firm with a national practice, seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join its team as a Legal Assistant in one of our metro NY offices. The Legal Assistant will provide administrative and secretarial support to assigned attorneys and provide backup to other attorneys as requested. The position requires the ability to multitask effectively and balance working on multiple requests and projects on a daily basis. Strong analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
This role is eligible to be hybrid after on site training is complete.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to handle pressure, interruptions and multiple projects with frequently changing priorities and deadlines
  • Must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Perform administrative duties, including proofreading and editing all materials for extreme accuracy and clarity and processing invoices.
  • E-filing knowledge in preparation to file all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions
  • Knowledge of legal documents and terminology
  • Knowledge of expense reporting, billing and dictation
  • Assist with calendar calls and deposition scheduling, as needed
  • Assist with travel plans, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources

Experience/Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience working in a law firm.
  • Civil Litigation experience is required.
  • Exceptional organization skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
  • Teamwork oriented.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
