Description:
CBCL is seeking a Civil/Municipal Engineer-in-Training to join our team in Saint John, NB! Through all stages of the design process, you will be encouraged to take a role in delivering exceptional results for our clients.
YOUR CAPABILITIES & CREDENTIALS
- Have earned a degree in Civil Engineering;
- Be registered or have the ability to register as a Member-in-Training with APEGNB;
- 0-2 years of experience;
- Have an interest in municipal and heavy civil construction projects;
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InfraWorks, SketchUp and ArcMap would be an asset;
- Have the ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment;
- Effective time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects;
- Be available to work overtime, from time to time;
- Have a valid Driver’s License and be willing to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities:
As our ideal candidate, you have an interest in the delivery of projects in some or all of the following areas: water transmission and distribution, wastewater collection and pumping, stormwater management and flood plain mapping, residential/industrial/commercial developments, marine infrastructure, transportation, resident observation during construction, and contract administration.
We are seeking individuals who are excited to participate with an established team of professional engineers and technologists in developing innovative multidisciplinary design solutions with an emphasis on client satisfaction. More specifically, you will:
- Carry out data collection activities including topographic survey and infrastructure investigations;
- Assist in the development of conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs and drawings for the full range of civil/municipal infrastructure including water distribution, sanitary sewer collection systems, pump stations, stormwater management, roadway systems, etc.
- Support the day-to-day activities of projects from inception through engineering, construction and contract administration; and
- Prepare technical reports and cost estimates.
