Job Description
AECOM Mississauga is looking for a civil specialist to be assigned in Mississauga, ON. The successful candidate will initially provide technical advisory support services on the GO Expansion program and will be co-located at the client’s project office in downtown Toronto at least 2 days per week. Travel to construction sites around the GTHA is expected.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing project management support to the client team, including management of scope, schedule, cost and quality;
  • Reviewing and providing commentary on preliminary and detailed designs developed by others;
  • Managing constructability reviews as appropriate;
  • Conducting quality assurance audits on active construction sites;
  • Liaising with subject matter experts from various departments to provide fully coordinated design and construction solutions that are fit for purpose;
  • Acting independently on technical matters in the field;
  • Identifying and sharing international best practices and lessons learned across disciplines.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant engineering discipline + 4+ years of relevant experience OR Technical Diploma + 6+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on-site (construction supervision, surveying, quality assurance);
  • Experience working safely in an active rail corridor;
  • CROR and PTS certifications;
  • Design and/or review of engineering plans;
  • Project management experience would be an asset;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English);
  • Interacts with clients in a professional manner;
  • Able to work well under pressure;
  • Valid G-class drivers license.
