Job Description:
We currently have an opening for a Civil Technologist with an interest in Water Resource projects for our Kelowna office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate and deliver water resources, infrastructure, and transportation projects across BC. These projects will encompass a variety of water resources sub-specialties including hydrotechnical engineering, drainage engineering, and coastal/shoreline engineering. You will deliver innovative solutions to complex projects and be challenged to develop high quality products for our valued clients in many sectors, such as municipal and regional governments, transportation, environmental, and natural resources.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Creating 2D conceptual drawings
  • Modeling water resources, infrastructure, and transportation projects with Civil 3D
  • Creating conceptual and preliminary designs
  • Preparing detailed design drawings
  • Supporting with tender documents
  • Supporting with engineering analysis and hydraulic modelling
  • Supporting with technical report submissions
  • Field surveying and data collection
  • Construction inspection and assistance with contract administration
  • Coordinating and communicating with multi-discipline project teams

Job Requirements:

What you will bring:

  • Diploma in Design/Drafting Technology from an accredited technical institution.
  • 2+ years’ progressive experience in computer aided drafting and design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word and Excel).
  • Experience with GIS software is an asset (QGIS or ArcGIS).
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Committed team player and the ability to work independently.

The salary range for this position is $66,560.00 to $93,600.00, and is commensurate with experience relative to this position.
