PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Claims Analyst is responsible for review and recommendation of eligibility of claims for payment. This includes the proofing of all claimant submitted data, analysis of the claim for completeness, correctness, or duplication, and making recommendations as to whether claims are eligible, deficient, or rejected with a high degree of accuracy.

The Claims Analyst also will work closely with management, and with direction may also be responsible for handling review and clearing of additional documentation received from claimants, distribution and post distribution review, and returned check reconciliation.

  • Work with data and claim exceptions and ensure claim statuses are flagged correctly.
  • Analyze claims and any supporting documentation to ensure eligibility determination is reasonable and correct.
  • When working securities claims, identify and correct beneficial owner errors, identify and process shorts and transfer transactions.
  • Identify and flag duplicate claims.
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by management.

Secondary Job Duties – as needed

  • Assist in Data Entry/Claim Verification
  • Assist with claimant escalations, emails, or other written correspondence

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Good to excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of standard Microsoft software; WORD, OUTLOOK, and EXCEL.
  • Typing 40 WPM
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to comprehend court approved, complex Plans of Allocation and interpret business periodicals, journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Working knowledge of corporate actions and other financial products (e.g. stock splits, mergers, bond conversion, employee stock options).
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to queries from managers, clients, customers, or the public.
  • Advanced Microsoft Suite
