Your Responsibilities
Lockton is currently seeking an analytical forward thinker who is passionate about providing exceptional service and support throughout the life cycle of the claims process. The Claims Consultant provides technical expertise and advocacy for clients operating in a range of industries as they work through a variety of claims. As a trusted client consultant, you have the responsibility to oversee the full-length claim process from initiation to closure, through frequent communication and management of expectations amongst the client, Lockton account team, and carrier partners. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Oversee claims from initial notification through resolution, supporting the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of complex issues throughout the claim cycle
  • Ensure claims are analyzed for coverage, adjusted, and paid appropriately
  • Proactive communication with carriers and TPAs, clients and prospects, Lockton account teams and other stakeholders as necessary
  • Identify and manage expectations of all parties involved in the claim to include client, Lockton account team and carrier partners
  • Assist with coverage and policy analysis, issues and dispute resolution
  • Identify and engage with valued vendor partners, including TPAs, forensics accountants, subject matter experts, engineers, and legal partners
  • Serve as a professional liaison with carrier partners on claims issues and advocate for client through the knowledge of coverage and claims best practices
  • Participate in new business opportunities, identify cross-selling opportunities, and demonstrate Lockton service values to win new business and maintain existing clients
  • Review and analyze claim reports to identify and address trends to develop and implement strategies to best serve our client’s needs and correct adverse trends
  • Additional claim-related tasks, as requested by leadership
  • Support internal and external clients with coverage analysis, claim issue resolution and other claim challenges
  • Communicate across teams and series on claim issues relating analytics, policy issues, claim development and quantum as appropriate
  • Responding to each task, concern and situation with Lockton speed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; or equivalent education and work experience
  • Completion of industry specific designations preferred (AIC, CPCU, etc.)
  • Prior experience in handling of complex or high value commercial claims according to industry best practices
  • Strong technical expertise and ability to articulate knowledge in claims handling process, litigation management and variety of commercial coverage forms
  • Developed analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to clients and/or prospects, Lockton teams, carrier partners and supporting resources
  • High level of business acumen and negotiation skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and priorities in fast paced environment
  • Understands industry trends and governmental regulations
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of Client and company information
  • Legally able to work in the United States
  • Demonstrated understanding of insurance industry best practices, laws and appropriate application in claim scenarios
  • Willingness to travel, as needed, for internal and client meetings
