We are seeking an individual with technical knowledge of insurance policies and heavy equipment/trucking appraisal, to join our team as a Claims Manager for our Heavy Equipment Appraisal/Total Loss teams. As the Claims Manager, you’ll supervise and motivate your team to provide quality file handling and settlement with superior customer service.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

You’ll provide exceptional guidance and direction to the Heavy Equipment Appraisal/Total Loss team in order to help Sentry maintain its level of standards and ensure a high level of customer service is provided to our policyholders and claimants. In addition, you’ll:

  • Supervise and motivate a team of appraisers of heavy equipment, ensuring accurate and fair valuations of equipment conditions and repairs, as well as a total loss team on the valuations of heavy trucks and machinery.
  • Implement improvement programs where needed and recognize staff that provide exceptional customer service.
  • Work closely with your staff to communicate work direction, monitor service, and discuss new coverage or laws.
  • Monitor claim progression and participate in file review sessions, ensuring adherence to standards and practices.
  • Prioritize workloads and conduct file quality audits to ensure prompt and accurate file handling.
  • Provide guidance and direction on files as the technical expert in the claim unit.
  • Review new claims not automatically assigned by the claims system and assign them to claims representatives for appraisals, evaluation, and settlement.
