What we’re working on at Slang
Slang started at MIT as a research project on using AI and NLP to make learning a new language as efficient as possible. Our technology powers a highly adaptive e-learning platform that offers an unprecedented variety of specialized English courses and proficiency tests for career development in over one hundred fields like Sales, Finance, Logistics, Medicine, and Law. With just a small team, we’ve already created the largest professional English offering in the world. Now, we’re scaling up to release 1,000 more courses over the next three years.

What this role is about
In this role, you will drive the development and execution of our Online Classes to create a seamless experience between our English Consultants and the rest of the Slang platform, playing a key role in optimizing our class scheduling processes and operational efficiency.
You’ll get familiar with analyzing and interpreting our classroom databases, as Slang manages thousands of hours of class time. Problem-solving and independently implementing solutions to increase and optimize the logistical efficiency of our classes while improving scheduling efficacy are at the core of the position.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Administration, or any related field.
  • 6+ months of relevant experience.
  • English-language skills (B2 level or higher).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets proficiency.
  • A Plus: experience with processes and operational efficiency.

SOFT SKILLS

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to research, learn fast, and adapt to keep up with the company’s pace - this is a new and growing area.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of class scheduling processes and operational efficiency.
  • Have accountability for owning a product, solving problems, and prioritizing tasks to benefit the user experience.
  • Communicate and coordinate our class assignments for our English Consultants to ensure class continuity.
  • Asses, monitor, and address any issues related to class scheduling optimizing class capacity and resource allocation.
  • Support the Classes Operations Lead in process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including talent, support & performance lead, to facilitate effective class operations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to class scheduling and assignments.
  • Understand client’s requirements, identify potential issues, and work with other teams to resolve them.
