HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

As a Cleaning operative you’ll play a vital role ensuring that our Corporate buildings are a clean and safe environment for our service users and staff to visit and work in. You will make a difference by carrying out duties to the specifications and levels required to maintain a good level of hygiene across all the Councils sites.
As we may require you to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area a full valid driving licence with regular access to a vehicle, will be desirable, or have alternative appropriate means of travel.
The main base will be Badminton Road Yate, however, this is subject to change to other sites across South Gloucestershire depending on operational requirements (for example, Kingswood, Patchway).

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Business insurance will need to be added to your personal car policy
  • Mileage can be claimed at 45p per mile.
  • Shift pattern: these vary and can be either mornings or evenings, please see below
  • Hours :10 hours per week
  • Uniform & equipment will be provided

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

You will be able to follow processes on the condition and safe storage of cleaning chemicals, and dispense, dilute and use chemicals in the correct method.

  • You will have good organisational skills, enabling you to follow instructions correctly and complete tasks to an agreed standard.
  • An ideal candidate will have good communication and problem solving skills.

    • It is crucial that you have a full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities:

Under the day to day supervision of a Cleaning Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out cleaning at the site either individually or as part of a team, following Property Service’s prepared schedules and to agreed quality standards.

  • You will be responsible for carrying out all cleaning using materials and equipment in a safe and proper manner. This will involve the washing/wiping of surfaces, cleaning toilets, vacuuming, mopping and using a floor polish machine.
  • On a day to day basis you will need to move cleaning equipment and materials, therefore, the ideal applicant will be able to bend, crouch and lift regularly.
  • The nature of this role will require you to travel between various corporate sites to cover for annual leave and other absences.
