At Sodexo, you will be an essential member of the team working as a Cleaning Senior Supervisor in George Watsons College, 67-71 Colinton Road, Edinburgh, EH10 5EG, You will be responsible for the site’s overall appearance on a daily basis, providing outstanding cleaning services in order to keep the surroundings safe and hygienic for everyone. What you’ll do:

  • Train and provide guidance to cleaning staff on cleaning techniques, use of equipment, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Assign cleaning duties, inspect work areas regularly to ensure cleanliness, and report any issues to the appropriate department.
  • Will require having IT experience ie Word, Power point, Excel worksheets, as part of your role will include a certain amount of Admin support.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies, equipment, and other related materials.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure compliance with sanitation and safety guidelines.
  • Perform administrative duties, including scheduling, attendance management, performance evaluations, and handling personnel matters.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance, to address specialised cleaning needs and resolve any facility-related issues promptly.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to optimise efficiency and productivity while maintaining a high level of cleanliness.
  • Provide excellent customer service to staff, students, and visitors, responding promptly and effectively to cleanliness-related concerns or inquiries.

What you bring:

  • Proven experience as a cleaning supervisor, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
  • Solid knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices, equipment, and chemicals.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are needed to effectively interact with staff, students, and visitors.
  • Proficiency in using cleaning equipment and knowledge of safety precautions while operating them.
