Description:

The role of the Clerical Administrator is to provide a full clerical/reception service to support the Pathology Department in processing of daily workloads and ad hoc office duties.
To provide full reception duties for Visitors Reception within Pathology.
Operate an effective bring forward system and filing system.
Make full use of the computer systems and packages available. Ensure all information is updated regularly and take responsibility for reporting any faults, incorrect patient data and breaches in security.
Support with housekeeping of telepath if required.
Respond to telephone enquiries for results from GP surgeries, wards, clinics etc.
To ensure that all reports are sorted and distributed to the relevant bodies through internal and external posting systems in a timely and efficient manner.
To provide cross cover for colleagues as and when required.
Be able to work as part of a team, promote effective flows in the department to cover leave and ensure office runs smoothly.
To be aware of the importance of patient confidentiality at all times.
Assist with audits/research/data collection as required.
Undertake audits as required.
Send out Pathology Paper report daily to stakeholders in a timely manner.
Photocopying/scan and general housekeeping of the office environment.
Assist with collection of clinical data for audit and disseminate information
to teams.
Obtain information requested by Administration Services Manager as and when required.
To work in a flexible manner in accordance with Trust Policy.

  • Work with managers and administrative staff to review working practices, ways of working and find solutions to problems.
  • Any other duties required by Line Manager.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General office duties including dealing with incoming and outgoing mail, e-mail, scan, photocopying. Participate in housekeeping of the office environment.

TEACHING & TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend appropriate training and education sessions at the request of the manager.
