Description:

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Walker Family Cancer Centre, the successful candidate will provide supervision, training and direction to the Clerical team within the Walker Family Cancer Centre. This role will also assist the Manager in planning, organizing and monitoring the clerical functions/activities within the Walker Family Cancer Centre. The Clerical Supervisor will establish standardized daily work and quality assurance metrics and processes for clerical positions. The Supervisor will develop efficiencies and quality improvement strategies for implementation. Additionally, the Supervisor will oversee and complete delegated responsibilities including coordination of orientation of new WFCC clerical team members. The supervisor will work collaboratively with the WFCC clinical applications specialist to facilitate changes and additions to the electronic medical record schedule and booking guidelines as well as work with other NH and community partners. The incumbent will demonstrate a strong commitment to the NH’s mission, vision, and values; and will utilize strong team building and prioritization skills. Travel to all sites is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

o Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Office Administration/Management with a focus on Health Services
o Minimum of 2 years within the last 3 years of supervisory experience
o Knowledge of current office management practices and ability to identify/develop processes for clerical services delivery
o Knowledge of Walker Family Cancer Centre programs and clinics
o Knowledge of regulations under the Provincial Statutes related to patient information, release of information procedures; patient’s rights and hospital responsibilities to secure patient information
o Knowledge of OH-CCO Cancer Plan
o Knowledge of quality assurance metrics and the development of processes to ensure quality, timely and efficient patient care
o Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and above average computer skills
o Demonstrated organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
o Demonstrated comfort with public speaking and presentation skills
o Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to travel to multiple sites
o Consistent and regular attendance is required
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
