Description:
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
We are looking for individuals who have experience of inspection, surveying and design relating to the Mechanical Engineering discipline within a Building Services Environment.
The successful candidate must demonstrate an up to date knowledge of regulatory and industry standards applicable to Mechanical Services installations within commercial and education environments.
To undertake the role, we require candidates to have excellent planning and organisational skills along with the ability to complete and implement surveys, reports and project reviews within target deadlines.
Must be capable of developing innovative solutions and demonstrate knowledge of existing low/zero carbon technologies and an awareness of current government and PKC initiatives to promote the implementation of such technology in line with present/future industry and regulatory standards.
The successful candidate must be highly self-motivated, confident and demonstrate a keen willingness to work alongside PKC’s engineering team as well as the ability to work well within the hierarchy structure of our internal and external project teams.
An outgoing, confident and professional attitude is also essential along with the willingness to provide technical support to other areas of the business and external clients as required.
Other essential requirements for the role are for individuals to demonstrate excellent communication skills; both orally and written.
Across both internal PKC and external design/construction teams you will be working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team of technical and non-technical staff, the ability to engage effectively with a wide and diverse audience is essential for the role. It is vital that the successful candidate demonstrates the ability to establish good working relationships both within the council and with external teams.
Design team experience on a range of construction projects would be advantageous as the roles will involve being part of a project design team across all stages from design through to post handover.
You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
