POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Manager, Client Relations and Engagement WRHA, and in collaboration with other members of the Client Relations team and Quality Improvement & Patient Safety Unit, the Client Relations (CR) and Patient Safety (PS) Coordinator supports quality improvement and patient safety across the Winnipeg health region.
Primary functions of this role include:
- Intake, assessment, referral or resolution of requests from patients, clients, residents, families and the public;
- Intake, assignment, designation and entry of patient safety events;
- Correspondence with Manitoba Health and Seniors Care for completion of assigned processes;
- Entry and management of files in RL Solutions (Risk and Feedback).
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of three years of experience in a health care setting/health information services is required.
- Experience using RL Solutions (Risk or Feedback modules) is an asset, as well as proficiency in spreadsheets, databases and other computer systems.
EDUCATION (DEGREE/DIPLOMA/CERTIFICATE)
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in a health-related discipline preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered (i.e., five years of experience completing intake and response to patient and family requests).
- Medical terminology is an asset.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Must possess excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, as well as oral and written communication skills, judgment and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work independently and demonstrate the ability to put conceptual ideas into practice.
- Demonstrated ability to understand processes, particularly in complex systems.
- Integrity, dependability, honesty, initiative, tact and high ethical standards are required.
