Role/ Department:
A vacancy has arisen in our Private Equity (PE) Operations team. The team services multiple private equity clients which are at various stages of their life-cycle.
You will be working as a Client Service Manager with direct responsibility for a team of accountants.
Key components of the role include overseeing daily operations of client servicing including the review of client financial statements and capital accounts and liaison with both auditors and tax advisors, ensuring timely delivery of the financial reporting administered within the team, acting as technical expert to meet the client’s needs, working with partners in outsourced locations, providing assistance to the administration Client Service Manager. On passing your probationary period the expectation would be that you achieve signatory status which would include the approval of banking transactions.
In addition to client reporting this role will work closely with the senior management of the department and will be expected to cover internal reporting in respect of the client team including items such as KPIs, risk reviews and risk / regulatory reporting.

The key responsibilities of the role includes:

  • Ensure that your team complies with standard training procedures, and has effective training provision in place to ensure that all staff are fully trained to fulfil their current or planned role
  • Promote the continuous development of relevant knowledge and skills through effective use of the appraisal process, interim reviews and coaching, and evaluation of the results
  • Ensure that effective communication processes are used within your area, consistent with the Company’s communications strategy and standards
  • Discuss objectives and issues of concern with your team and encourage constructive feedback
  • Critical background knowledge of entities worked on by Team
  • Ensuring that operational arrangements are clearly established at inception of a fund and are regularly updated
  • Ensuring that documentation, legal and compliance issues are complete
  • Monitoring and ensuring consistently high standards of service to the client group
  • Addressing any problems or complaints of the client group clearly and effectively
  • Dealing with client / NTIFAS(G)L procedural issues
  • Developing a thorough knowledge of your client and their bespoke requirements with regards to key processes;
  • Working closely with the client to resolve queries;
  • Working with other teams within NT to ensure delivery of client deliverables;
  • To be fully briefed / familiar with the issues which are to be considered by the Board of client entities
  • Ensuring minutes are produced to a high standard. (Target is within 48 hours of the board meeting)
  • Has an understanding of the anti-money laundering legislation, particularly with regard to Investor ‘KYC’.
  • Authorise instructions as an “A” signatory
  • Has an understanding of Guernsey legislation as it effects entities under administration i.e. Guernsey Company Law, POI and FNCC legislation and understands Company Secretarial Procedures

Skills/ Qualifications:

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Knowledge of the administration of Private Equity funds to include structures and the regulatory requirement
  • Knowledge of Guernsey Company Law POI and FNCC legislation and Anti-Money Laundering legislation
  • Previous management experience and strong leadership skills required
  • Experience in administration, desirable in Funds/Private Equity (Not essential)
  • Effective Communication skills (Verbal & Written) essential
  • Strong IT skills
  • Have an enthusiastic approach and positive attitude;
  • Have customer service orientation with a concern for quality;
  • Initiative to prepare procedures and checklists to assist others;
  • Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines
  • Advanced Excel Skills and knowledge of Investran would be an advantage
  • Industry knowledge – know various financial instruments, local regulations and laws;
  • Business or financial services qualification or studying for same. This is not essential but would be an advantage.
