Description:
Job Description
We are the Consumer Insights team, a digitally focused research team within GfK, and we love collaborating with clients to identify current and future market opportunities and develop innovative solutions. Our culture is based on creativity and openness, and we actively encourage everyone in our teams to input to our and our clients development.
As part of the team you’ll get to understand market landscapes, dynamics, consumers (and businesses) in that market and translate what we learn into specific opportunities. We love to get immersed in data, work with it, come up with new hypotheses, and keep interrogating what we produce in order to create analysis we are proud of.
For this role we are looking for an individual who is keen to develop a strong interest in analytics and technology as the majority of your time will be spent working closely with mobile operators, TV and broadband suppliers. This will involve using a combination of survey data, point of sale data, and industry knowledge to tell compelling stories about market movements and new opportunities for our clients.
This client facing role involves taking the lead with a portfolio of clients – being responsible for managing day to day requests and using data to develop strategic and tactical recommendations and insights and solve business needs. Your role will involve direct interaction with clients, so being able to establish rapport with clients by being client-focused, responsive and approachable is necessary. You will need to be able to confidently present PowerPoint reports, initially alongside a co-presenter, with an expectation of taking full ownership in the medium term.
We’re looking for someone who has the aptitude to work with complex datasets in a commercial role, being able to quickly get to grips with the numbers and translate this into insight for our clients. Our data is used across the industry for forecasting sales and determining strategy, so numeracy and storytelling skills are a must.
We love to learn from each other, keep on top of the latest trends and share knowledge through ideas lunches, learning workshops, and team initiatives. We would like someone to join our team who shares similar passions to us.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Quantitative consultancy skills, particularly in the analysis of multi-layered data sets
- Client management skills
- Strong reporting and communication skills. Has a passion to be an engaging ‘Story-Teller’
- Confident running own cross tabs using a reporting platform such as Survey Reporter
- Ideally knowledge of the UK telco market – if not, willingness to immerse themselves in it and become experts in the industry
Additional Information
Responsibilities:
- Initially support the successful delivery of our Tech360 solution to a number of clients through data analysis, report creation and responding to ad hoc requests, with the expectation to lead some of these reports in the medium term
- Support the delivery of the project on time and within budget
- Support non-project initiatives for knowledge growth and proposition development
