Description:
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Research Lead in Sovereign Climate, the Climate Research Analyst will work within the Sustainable Investment (SI) Research Team in the Data & Analytics division of LSEG. Working in collaboration with other team members, the analyst will gain a thorough grounding in analysis that integrates sustainability and financial data, while engaging with LSEG’s global client base, investor initiatives, academics, project partners, and other stakeholders in the sustainable investment space.
The Climate Research Analyst, together with the Research Lead, will develop and enhance country-level transition risk scoring models and assessment tools, as well as maintain existing models. Candidates should bring a passion for sustainability, sovereign climate analysis, and experience or strong interest in research within an investment context. Strong communication skills, enabling effective engagement with clients and stakeholders, are highly valued.
Key expectations of the role
- Develop and maintain country-level climate-related data and models.
- Manage interactions with stakeholders – both internal (e.g. operations and technology teams) and external (e.g. clients, standard setters, and regulators) on research and product development projects.
- A proven ability to produce impactful publications and strong analytical writing and presentation skills is an asset.
- Co-author high-profile publications, such as the
Net Zero Atlas
.
- Ideally, bring 2+ years of experience in quantitative and qualitative climate research; experience in an investment context is preferred but not required.
- Experience in developing climate-related analytics products and frameworks is a plus.
- An advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred; however, equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Effectively manage relationships with stakeholders with varying demands and work collaboratively as a team player.
- Demonstrate a strong passion for sustainable investing and climate-related research.
- Strong analytical skills are essential; proficiency in Python or similar tools is desirable but not mandatory.
