JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinic Lead is a clinic leadership position responsible for assisting the Territory Manager/Regional Manager (Manager) in leading and guiding the day-to-day operations in a clinic. They provide the onsite support to optimize the clinic functionality and performance to improve patient care. They escalate clinic issues to the appropriate manager where appropriate. They are responsible for assisting with employee and patient engagement and assisting with the improvement of metrics. The CL will work closely with the Manager to assist with leading the clinic tasks. The CL will not be required to complete performance assessments or disciplines for staff. The CL duties are expected to be carried out as required and should be able to be managed with their current role.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

The Clinic Lead (CL) is a clinic employee position that provides leadership to a clinic or group of smaller clinics within a small geography, especially in areas where a manager is not able to maintain regular physical visits due to geographical distance or in clinics where a large patient census necessitates the need for onsite leadership (400+ patients). This position provides leadership to day-to-day operations and first point of contact to resolve issues from patients, physicians and the general public.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads a clinic by scheduling, making daily work assignments, arranging coverage for absences, and escalating staffing issues they cannot resolve to the Manager.
  • Provides the immediate, initial response to any on-site issues. Reports high priority issues to the Manager immediately.
  • Meets with the Manager weekly, at a minimum, to review clinic operations and alert the Manager of any issues, including suspected performance issues.
  • Supervises staff to ensure that processes and procedures are followed.
  • Identifies operational challenges and works with manager to implement process improvements or new initiatives.
  • Ensures UDS are completed on schedule and procedures are followed as per SOP.
  • Patient safety - works with pharmacy and staff to distribute naloxone kits to patients.
  • Ensures screening/bloodwork occurs for all patients as per the Hep C Program.
  • Hold huddles to share news, listen to staff concerns - escalating where needed.
  • Supports and trains staff, new and current, to provide optimal patient care.
  • Mentors and guides the clinic staff to build a culture of empowerment, respect and non-judgement for all staff and patients.
  • Empowers staff to work as “one team, one service” alongside CATC pharmacies or another pharmacy partner.
  • Work closely with clinic MRPs to provide exceptional patient and employee experiences.
  • Exercises problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when handling patient complaints; refers patient concerns to Manager as needed.
  • Ensures the clinic is clutter-free. Facilitates building maintenance and cleanliness by sending repair requests and/or reporting issues with cleaning to the Manager.
  • Performs work in accordance with the provisions of OATC Policies and Procedures and ensure that employees are aware of and comply with all Corporate Health and Safety Policies and Procedures. Ensures on-going monitoring and reporting of all occupational health and safety issues in the workplace
  • Performs other duties as may be required.
