PAY RATE: $20.60+ PER HOUR (MAY BE DETERMINED BY BOTH EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)

Our licensed therapists are in over 100 schools throughout Maryland and ready to help young people with emotional and behavioral issues that can impact them in school and at home. We also help parents and caregivers get the support, information and guidance that leads to better communication and less stress at home. Locations include Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Frederick, and Harford Counties and Baltimore City.
Catholic Charities of Baltimore, VMBH is currently seeking a Clinical Administrative Assistant to provide a welcoming atmosphere for all who enter the Behavior Health Clinic (BHC). Provides professional and efficient administrative and clerical assistance to the clinic staff, vendors, visitors, and clients. The work schedule would be Monday-Friday 9:30am -5:30pm. A total of 37.5 hours per week.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years’ experience in a medical/clerical office setting.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations; proficient in multitasking and time management.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills required to interact with patients and clinical staff
  • Ability to communicate at a high level both in written and verbal form.
  • Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of computer software and general technology.
  • Must be excellent at time-management, organization and the ability to organize a daily workload by priorities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Hearing and vision abilities within normal range (corrected) to observe and communicate with others

Responsibilities:

  • Provides general administrative/clerical assistance, including but not limited to answering telephones, scanning, and faxing. Ability to deal with customers in a professional, calm, patient and friendly manner.
  • Executes the role of doctor assistant by monitoring the flow of the provider’s schedule, checking patient height, weight and blood pressure (digital), consulting with patient for updated medical history, requesting lab results, completing medication consent forms, prior authorizations, or lab requisition forms, and working with pharmacies and clients to solve any medication issues.
  • Schedules appointments
  • Performs intake duties, such as completing all admissions paperwork and entering it into our electronic medical records system (EMR), verifying medical insurance coverage and benefits for each patient, collecting data to complete paperwork, preparing and maintaining client charts.
  • Manages the release and request for records to include, following all HIPPA regulations and procedure, receiving records request, retrieving appropriate records, and securely transmitting records to authorized parties.
