Description:

Key Responisibilities Include

  • Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  • Participate in the day-to-day operation of Central Specimen Reception including the specimen referral function.
  • Exercise judgement and discretion in undertaking various tasks whilst being responsible for the quality of work undertaken.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in order to meet service delivery deadlines
  • Contribute to the CSR teams KPI objectives and performance goals by managing workloads appropriately and prioritising tasks.
  • Build relationships with customers by using strong communication skills to achieve optimal workflow in specimen reception.
  • Participate in relevant on-going education and training as part of a team.
  • Contribute to training and mentoring of fellow team members as required.
  • Comply with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification requirements including performing quality control procedures, assisting with preparation of procedure manuals and completion of relevant statistics.
  • Comply with and utilise procedures, policies, regulations, and standards which impact upon the position, including the Queensland Health Code of Conduct, contemporary human resource management requirements and practices, such as Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Control, Equal Employment Opportunity and Anti-discrimination Policy.

  • Extensive experience and ability to deliver high quality services to clients. Ability to understand and react responsively to client expectations.
  • High level of communication skills to enable effective interaction in individual and group situations.
  • Demonstrated effective administration skills including keyboard skills. Ability to acquire knowledge of computer systems.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements

  • While not mandatory, a relevant qualification (Cert III Laboratory Assistance) would be well regarded.
