We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist (CAP) to join our growing team of psychological professionals in the North Lincolnshire Care Group. You will join our Crisis Resolution and Home Based Treatment Service as part of the Psychological Professionals’ Acute Care Pathway, based at Great Oaks in Scunthorpe. There is a clinical leadership structure in the CRHT Hospital Liaison Team comprising of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Associate Psychologist and Assistant psychologist. This post is for a qualified CAP but we would also consider applications from trainee CAPs.
To undertake structured interviews, psychological assessments and observations of individuals and groups.
To assist in the development of psychological formulations of complex clinical problems and the development and delivery of care plans, which include psychological treatment and/ or management of client’s problems.
To determine appropriate psychological intervention, taking into account a range of potentially conflicting clinical information and dynamics under the supervision of a practitioner psychologist.
To carry out psychological and psychometric tests, to develop interview and observation skills and to assess service user/patient needs.
To design, implement, modify appropriate, bespoke psychological interventions with service users and groups under the supervision of a practitioner psychologist.
To communicate confidential and personal information concerning psychological needs, obtained through assessments and interventions, to referring agents, multidisciplinary team and to the service user themselves.
To assist in the design, coordination and running of therapeutic groups.
To keep appropriate records of work and inform referrers and relevant others through letters or reports defined within the polices for RDaSH
To work in a variety of settings including the service users own home and other settings were appropriate and to ensure the provision of any necessary equipment e.g. laptop computer or psychometric test equipment
