We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Clinical Sales Specialist to join the EMEA Bioinformatics Sales team. In this exciting position, your primary responsibility will be to identify and manage the sales process of projects requiring clinical bioinformatics services and/or custom software development for QIAGEN Digital Insights (QDI) within the Europe Central Region (Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Luxembourg). You will primarily focus on private medical laboratories and university academic centres for clinical-oriented applications.
Furthermore, you will assist your commercial colleagues within any of the other key QIAGEN business areas, Molecular Diagnostics and Life Sciences, in achieving their business goals as a proactive team member through consultation and co-ownership of relevant projects. The solutions that you will be responsible for will be based upon either existing QDI software and knowledge bases or entirely custom solutions developed solely on the clients’ business and technical requirements. The role requires the individual to work with the most complex bioinformatics solutions that are offered across the most complex business landscape and geography within QDI.
Key responsibilities:
- Actively prospect new opportunities, and discover and cultivate sales opportunities within existing accounts in close cooperation with local Account Managers.
- Contribute to building of the overall sales pipeline by generating leads and referrals and new customer opportunities within the Europe Central Region; provide accurate forecasts as required.
Assist clients in identifying key areas within their bioinformatics workflow that can be improved by a QIAGEN service offering or tailored solution. Expand solutions to generate additional product or service attachments.
Establish professional, working, and consultative relationships with all levels of client representatives - from bench scientists, to laboratory management, IT-, director- and C-level management as necessary. Develop a core understanding of their unique needs within their industry.
Interface with internal and external domain experts, as necessary, to document user requirements and eventual draft business contracts.
Participate in both internal and external knowledge transfer and awareness activities including speaking during relevant meetings, symposia or conferences - live or online.
Position Requirements
- Demonstrated top sales performance and best in class (minimum 5 years’ experience) – preferably with previous experience within software consultancy.
- MSc. and/or Ph.D in Biology, Bioinformatics, Software Engineering or related field with an understanding of NGS and Bioinformatics applications.
- Demonstrated skills to translate business requirements into technology-based solutions.
- Proven ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external cross-functional organizations and customers across multiple geographies and cultures.
- Based in one of the countries of the Europe Central Region with willingness and ability to travel throughout the region (~60%).
