Description:

We have 2 exciting opportunities for someone to join our Clinical Coding Training and Audit Team as a Clinical Coding Auditor.
These posts are open to those who wish to start a career as a Clinical Coding Auditor as well as those who may already hold NHS England Approved Clinical Coding Auditor Status.
The post holder will work with our Senior Clinical Coding Auditor, working with our Clinical Coding Data Analytics system as well as performing individual and speciality based structured audits. You will also work closely with Maidstone and Tunbridge Well’s Clinical Coding Trainers , Management teams and Clinical Teams to improve Data Quality and the accuracy of Clinically Coded Data.
We will support the successful candidates to work towards achieving NHS England Approved Auditor Status.
Utilise the clinical coding departments data analytics software tool to drive improvements in the quality of coded data that is produced by the clinical coding department. To liaise with clinicians and trust management to ensure high standards of documentation are maintained and improved where necessary with the aid of the data analytics tool, consequently ensuring data quality is maximised for all specialties within the Trust.
To undertake monthly checks of specific data to ensure that the clinical coding department is producing consistently robust high-quality data.
Undertake targeted clinical coding audits for all specialties across the Trust and clinical coders within the department. Ensuring that the clinical coded data conforms to current clinical coding national standards.
As part of this role you will be required to feedback coding errors and flag poor practice both in coding and documentation standards. Working closely with the Senior Clinical Coding Auditor, Senior Clinical Coding Trainer and the wider Clinical Coding management team.
As a Clinical Coding Auditor, you will liaise with clinical coders, clinicians and managers, to enhance the accuracy and completeness of clinical coding.
As part of the audit team you will provide advice to the coding staff on coding matters, help monitor and respond to coding query emails that are sent to a designated email inbox.
