Description:
We are seeking a diligent and organised Administration Assistant to support our team of clinical coders.
The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Clinical Coding Department by handling various administrative tasks and managing reception duties. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in medical record management.

Established in 2016 Gold Coast Private Hospital is a 339 bed, 22 operating theatre facility located in Southport, the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct. Specialities include and are not limited to: 24/7 Emergency Care Centre, Medical, Orthopaedic, Bariatric, Neurosurgical, Plastics, ENT & General Surgical, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clinical coders with administrative tasks, including data entry and document management.
- Manage the reception area and incoming phone calls of the Clinical Coding Department
- Maintain and organize patient files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Utilise WebPAS and pathology databases to support coding activities.
- Prepare and distribute reports using basic Excel skills.
- Coordinate with other departments to streamline workflow and enhance communication.
- Perform general office duties, such as filing, scanning, and general document management.
KEY SKILLS AND STRENGTHS
- Prior experience in a medical records or healthcare administration role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using WebPAS is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of pathology databases is an advantage.
- Basic Excel skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
