Description:

We are seeking a diligent and organised Administration Assistant to support our team of clinical coders.
The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Clinical Coding Department by handling various administrative tasks and managing reception duties. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in medical record management.

Established in 2016 Gold Coast Private Hospital is a 339 bed, 22 operating theatre facility located in Southport, the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct. Specialities include and are not limited to: 24/7 Emergency Care Centre, Medical, Orthopaedic, Bariatric, Neurosurgical, Plastics, ENT & General Surgical, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clinical coders with administrative tasks, including data entry and document management.
  • Manage the reception area and incoming phone calls of the Clinical Coding Department
  • Maintain and organize patient files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Utilise WebPAS and pathology databases to support coding activities.
  • Prepare and distribute reports using basic Excel skills.
  • Coordinate with other departments to streamline workflow and enhance communication.
  • Perform general office duties, such as filing, scanning, and general document management.

KEY SKILLS AND STRENGTHS

  • Prior experience in a medical records or healthcare administration role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using WebPAS is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of pathology databases is an advantage.
  • Basic Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
