Description:

Are you an Accredited Clinical Coder (ACC) looking to grow your operational and managerial skills? Come and work with the clinical coding team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Our team is known for meeting deadlines and ranks highly in coding depth. As part of the Digital Information Service, our department delivers accurate and timely coded data.
Our skilled team of coders translates clinical documentation for approximately 15,000 inpatient spells each month into data that captures diagnoses and interventions for all consultant episodes. This data is essential for NHS England submissions, influencing national tariff reimbursement, healthcare planning, commissioning services, policy development, and epidemiology. We are committed to continuously improving data quality through internal audits and training programs, collaborating closely with clinicians and corporate colleagues.
As a Clinical Coding Team Manager, you will: - Lead and manage the clinical coding service and a team of coders. - Develop strategic plans for the clinical coding service. - Collaborate with clinicians to implement coding improvements that enhance data quality. - Conduct clinical coding audits and deliver training sessions.

The key responsibilities of the Clinical Coding Team Manager are to:
Manage the clinical coding service and clinical coders.
Undertake long-term planning for the clinical coding service.
Undertake clinician engagement to implement coding improvement which increase data quality.
Undertake clinical coding audits, and/or deliver training.
This role may offer: Hybrid home/on-site working accommodated, with consideration given to requests for fully-remote working in some circumstances. However please note it is a requirement that Identity and Qualifications documents are checked in person and therefore you may be required to attend an appointment at either York or Scarborough Hospital.
