Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is dedicated to delivering high-quality orthopedic care to underserved communities, including those on Medicaid or uninsured. As we grow, we are seeking a Clinical Communication Specialist to support our customer service and operations.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Clinical Communication Specialist will be responsible for facilitating clear and professional communication with patients, addressing inquiries, managing appointment scheduling, and assisting in clinical coordination. The ideal candidate must have a strong command of the English language (C1 level or higher) and a background in healthcare, with experience in patient interaction and administrative support.

- Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical workflows is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and communication tools.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a patient-centered mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, answering inquiries and providing information about services and procedures.
- Schedule appointments and manage changes while ensuring optimal clinic workflow.
- Assist in gathering and verifying patient information, including medical history and insurance details, before appointments.
- Support clinical staff by relaying patient concerns, test results, and updates promptly and accurately.
- Communicate pre- and post-procedure instructions to patients and answer related questions.
- Monitor and respond to messages and requests through multiple communication channels, such as phone, email, and patient portals.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely follow-up on referrals, lab results, and other patient-related tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and update the electronic medical records (EMR) system as needed.
- Provide empathetic and culturally sensitive communication tailored to patient needs.
