Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 315-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.
The Manager of Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program B is currently seeking a Full Time Clinical Consultant & Trainer. The purpose of this position is to provide clinical consultation and training to therapists in the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) Program. The Clinical Consultant/Trainer will provide clinical consultation to other clinicians (e.g., SW, RP, OT, RN) who are engaged in the provision of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for individuals who are experiencing depression and/or anxiety (including obsessive-compulsive concerns and post-traumatic stress). The Clinical Consultant & Trainer will also provide clinical training to therapists in the OSP Program and may deliver cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) to clients in the OSP Program.
This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. Office location is 952 Jones Road, Midland ON

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provide regular and ongoing clinical consultation to other qualified OSP therapists
  • Co-facilitate the online OSP CBT training courses based on principles of adult learning
  • Develop materials to support OSP clinical protocol adoption by OSP therapists
  • Train and remain up-to-date on OSP clinical protocols, training program and consultation requirements.
  • Collaborate with the regional OSP leadership team and management teams at service delivery sites
  • Provide feedback, suggestions, and advice as requested to the OSP team; Participate in regional and provincial development of the program.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master’s degree in a health related discipline is required OR
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a health related discipline and 3-5 years of experience as a therapist in the OSP program with all OSP training benchmarks complete (including University of Toronto accredited coursework in CBT).
  • Registered member in good standing with the applicable professional college (e.g. College of Nurses of Ontario, Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario).
  • A minimum of 3 years previous experience in the delivery of CBT with evidence of formal CBT training and appropriate supervision is required.
  • Completion of formal OSP required curriculum training is preferred.
  • Preference will be given to those who have experience providing consultation or supervision for psychotherapy.
  • Preference will also be given to those who have a minimum of 1-3 years experience training others in CBT, and those who have formal training/education in clinical consultation for psychotherapy.
