Description:

Location: This is a hybrid role, with two days a week in office - must be based in commuting distance to one of our health offices - Indianapolis, IN, Chicago, IL, Waltham, MA, Denver, CO, or Philadelphia, PA.
The Clinical Content Consultant – Pharmacist creates and maintains clinical content using proprietary Medi-Span editorial platforms for the team’s content sets. They also conduct peer review of content, participate in cross-functional product development activities, and provides input for product testing and delivery from a clinical perspective. In addition, they maintain external relationships to ensure the content meets clinical expectations. They act as a liaison between the team and the internal software engineering team to troubleshoot database alerts, content builds, and data quality reviews. Lastly, they participate in addressing new and existing customer questions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: PharmD, MS, or PhD (preferred) or, BS Pharm with significant clinical practice experience or specialization.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience (Note: exceptions may be made for candidates with unique skill sets such as drug information, clinical informatics, etc.).
  • Pharmacy License in good standing from any U.S. State.
  • Specialty Pharmacy experience including adjudication and formulary creation (strongly preferred).
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word (required), Microsoft Excel (required), and Microsoft Access (strongly preferred). SQL and/or Visual Basic experience (strongly preferred).

  • Extensive knowledge of clinical/content area of responsibility.
  • Advanced literature evaluation skills and/or advanced data analytic and clinical decision support skills.
  • Ability to make independent, clinically appropriate decisions.
  • Strong critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in written, verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptable to change in a fluid work environment.

Target salary range CA, CT, CO, HI, NY, WA: $152,700-$213,950

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating and revising accurate, high-quality clinical drug data consistent with the format and structure of the databases. Maintains consistency within the databases with respect to the association of concepts within and among drug classifications. Also maintains content consistency between databases/products.
  • Applies practical clinical experience when evaluating and interpreting scientific literature and other evidence for International and U.S. based content.
  • Participates/collaborates in the transformation and/or review of content transformed between referential sources and defined content structures for embedded datasets.
  • Submits work for collaborative peer review and responds appropriately to comments and criticisms. As a member of the team, critically, professionally, and thoroughly reviews the work of others to prompt improvements in clarity, accuracy, and accessibility to information across the spectrum of healthcare providers. Identifies and corrects omissions or errors in the data.
  • Applies clinical knowledge and expertise to develop, implement, and adhere to policies. Clearly articulates WKH policies, processes.
  • Achieves productivity by consistently meeting deadlines as defined in the Content Priority Policy and by meeting departmental and individual goals.
  • Maintains a high degree of currency in area(s) of clinical or domain expertise as well as industry knowledge via reading, attendance at professional meetings/educational conferences, and other activities (i.e. clinical practice, teaching, research, discussions, etc.).
  • Develops and maintains professional, specialty, and/or academic relationships.
  • Shares information and expertise with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Acts as an influential leader within the organization. Provides assistance and cross-education among clinical team/content members, and functional teams (e.g., sales, marketing, accounting, IT).
  • Lends subject matter expertise and actively participates in the process of new product development or enhancements to existing products. Participate in product design from a clinical perspective. Participate in the design and enhancement of tools used to manage content.
  • Provides a high level of customer service by offering customer and client support on an as needed basis, as well as responds in a timely and accurate manner to queries regarding content. Understands the needs and expectations of the assessment and validation of client problem. Ensures quality responses (written, verbal) to customer inquiries. Works with other departments and authors to improve data/products and their appeal to selected segments of the market as requested.
  • Participates and assists in the training of pharmacy students and residents.
  • May use technical and/or other database knowledge skills to download embedded files, run and/or create queries. Identify ways to innovate and enhance workflow efficiency, tools, and maintain quality data.
  • Facilitates the documentation and reporting of errors per corporate policy, as well as participates in the Issue Management process as an embedded data expert.
  • Anticipates problems or issues and identifies creative ways to solve problems or mitigate risks.
  • Represents Wolters Kluwer Health Clinical Effectiveness (WKH-CE) in a positive, professional, and customer-focused manner. Treats fellow employees and customers in a Fair, Honest, Responsive, and Results-Oriented manner.
