QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Registered Dietitian or RD eligible-completed ADA approved internship

Preferred:

  • Work experience in a health care environment

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Shift working, 8-4pm
  • 4 days a week, with a possible weekend day included
  • PT

Responsibilities:

  • Provides all aspects of nutritional care based on established standards
  • Performs age-specific nutritional assessments and develops nutritional plan
  • Develops appropriate care plans, monitoring the nutritional status of patients
  • Appropriately interprets patient data and responses to diet
  • Adapts eating utensils appropriate to age/ability
  • Counsels patients and/or family on nutrition education
  • Consults with other health care personnel (Physician, nurse, pharmacist, social worker, etc.) as appropriate
  • Manages time effectively able to complete work assignments in a timely manner
  • Participates in hospital committee, i.e., multidisciplinary rounds, etc.
  • Assists in supporting the highest possible patient satisfaction levels
  • Ensures program effectiveness and in achievement of department and client goals
  • Demonstrates competency in using GERIMENU system, for inputting of patients/residents data into GERIMENU system for food preferences, snacks / nourishment for production purposes. (for New Point Campus only)
  • Solves customer problems, treats customer with dignity and respect, acknowledges customer and responds quickly to customer needs
  • Conduct demonstrates compliance with and reporting of suspected violations of all relevant laws, regulations, Compliance Policies and Procedures, and the Code of Conduct
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including knowledge of the principles of growth and development and psycho-social characteristics and interventions for the patient population served
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret age appropriate data about the patient s status in order to identify age-specific needs and provide the care needed
  • Demonstrates age appropriate communication skills for the patient population served
