The use of capturing patient information on electronic systems is increasing and as a Trust, we are becoming more reliant on using digital to manage our patient care and day-to-day running of the wards. To make sure we do this to the best of our ability, you will need to be passionate about digital and experienced at using clinical digital systems, for example, InPatient Noting, eWhiteboards, DigiRounds, UHS Apps, EPMA etc… As this is an educational role you will be developing and implementing training packages for clinical staff on our digital applications. You do not need to be a technical wizard, just passionate about always improving and believing in the power of information.
As this role will require you to work across all specialties across the Trust, it will provide you with an opportunity to raise your profile, develop and practice excellent leadership and communication skills and support quality improvement.
As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we offer learning and development opportunities to help you achieve the career you aspire to.
Specific to this role we are open to discussing flexibility in the hours that you work. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you need, and we will explore what’s possible for the role and service. UHS employees are able to access a range of NHS discounts, are entitled to a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), and we offer a generous pension scheme.
Southampton is an attractive place to live and work situated on the south coast, with an international airport and direct trains to London. The New Forest National Park and beaches of the Jurassic coast are also right on our doorstep. The city offers living costs 20% lower than London and 14 schools rated outstanding by Ofsted.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering training on the use of InPatient Noting and other digital systems in clinical areas.
You will work closely with the Chief Nursing Informatics Officer, and liaise with Matrons, Ward Leaders, the Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) to provide digital education to improve compliance and correct use of the clinical digital systems and improve service delivery.
You will need to undertake regular audits, and to develop educational training packages to ensure the needs of the staff are met.
This is a great opportunity to promote, across the Trust, a learning environment that ensures evidence-based practice and optimal service delivery.
A key part of this role is being in a great position to help collect feedback to support ongoing developments of clinical digital systems.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about always improving ways of working and understands the power that information can provide to support patient safety and quality improvements.
You will have experience of using digital systems such as InPatient Noting and eWhiteboards and will be able to provide a mixture of ad-hoc and structured training either on the wards or classroom style.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a desire to further develop your leadership style.
You will demonstrate initiative, influence colleagues, and problem-solving skills while working in a variety of clinical and classroom settings.
You will have experience in leading change, educating and developing staff.
You will bring a track record of presenting information to a variety of people.
