POSITION SUMMARY
Clinical Director, Lung Cancer Initiatives is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic collaboration between GO2 for Lung Cancer and major community and national stakeholders. This position is for someone who is passionate and skilled in clinical oncology, measurement of quality in clinical care and continuous quality improvement, and community outreach and engagement. This role is multifaceted, will draw on critical outreach and engagement skills, and will offer the opportunity to serve a central role in engaging community stakeholders and healthcare teams on large-scale quality initiatives to improve lung cancer care nationally and beyond.
The Clinical Director, Lung Cancer Initiatives will report to the Chief Healthcare Delivery Officer within the Excellence in Healthcare Delivery Department in collaboration with project leads across GO2. This position supports the strategic goals of GO2 and the EHD to improve lung cancer survival through strategic outreach, engagement, partnerships, professional education, and expansion of GO2 Centers of Excellence network, quality lung cancer screening and care programs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Educational Requirements: Must possess a Masters or Doctorate degree in a healthcare-related field and current healthcare provider credentials and licensure with a specialization in clinical oncology, preferably with a focus on lung cancer.
- Professional Experience: Minimum three (3) years of direct clinical oncology care experience with a demonstrated history of leadership and management in a healthcare setting and the oncology care ecosystem.
- Licensure/Certification: Appropriate licensure and board certification as a healthcare provider commensurate to training in oncology or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of and direct experience in health systems and healthcare delivery
- Proven proficiency in scientific appraisal and writing.
- Proven experience in strategic project planning and program leadership
- People management experience
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects through completion
- Familiarity with oncology-related patient navigation, preferred
- Proficiency in related software and digital applications.
- Proficiency in project management and related software
- Proficiency in data and statistical analysis
- Publishing experience preferred
- Grant writing experience, preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job will be performed in the field and an office environment (GO2 office or remote/home office), primarily sitting at a desk and using a computer and phone. In order to perform the essential functions of the job, the employee must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Depending on location, this position will require frequent travel in the U.S. and to GO2 office locations. Regular conference attendance, exhibiting, and event participation is required.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead the strategic development and implementation of operational efforts of priority lung cancer initiatives to achieve organizational and departmental goals and objectives within designated areas of interest.
- Provide leadership and direction to local and regional field staff, including hiring, training, continuous mentoring and development, and performance evaluation.
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple programs, projects, and initiatives, ensuring efficient and effective implementation and completion.
- Assume responsibility and effectively manage program and project budgets, revenue, and expenses to meet funding expectations and deliverables and achieve established project goals and required activities for phases of programmatic work.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local partners, government and public health agencies, community-based organizations, and other select groups in target regions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and industry standards across all related operations.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the quality improvement initiatives within GO2 assigned programs, initiatives, and projects and those externally facing.
- Continuous monitoring of market trends, competition, and lung cancer community needs for program growth and expansion opportunities.
- Provide evidence-based clinical oncology and healthcare delivery knowledge, perspectives, and related support for relevant occurrences and needs within EHD and GO2 as appropriate.
- Ensure that all program activities and operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local licensure requirements, regulations, and laws.
- Ensure consistent service delivery across the program with attention to inclusive practices in and outside GO2.
- As directed by the Chief Healthcare Delivery Officer, build on existing best practices of the GO2 Centers of Excellence program and network.
- Establish local relationships and lead coordinated efforts for broad access to lung cancer screening and care by:
- Leveraging local stakeholder networks to organize, activate, and educate the public, primary care, and lung cancer community in regions of interest.
- Lead the outreach and expansion of the GO2 Centers of Excellence in high-need areas of interest for uptake and provision of high-quality lung cancer screening and care.
- Support policy action to accelerate the implementation and uptake of quality and evidence-based lung cancer screening and care.
- Collaborating with local partners to build on, expand, and develop local workforce with a specific focus on quality lung cancer screening and care in high-risk populations.
- Lead and facilitate implementation and provision of professional education efforts to target populations and key stakeholders in geographic areas of interest with high need.
- Collaborate with the EHD and GO2 staff to ensure continuous quality improvement of EHD programs and success.
- Collaborate with EHD team members to develop and carry out shared strategic priorities and plans.
- Collaborate with EHD team members in strategic planning and implementation of project-related professional development and educational events and related meetings.
- Maintain a performance and decision support dashboard to regularly report program and project performance and inform critical operational and financial decision-making.
- Appraise, analyze, interpret, and synthesize data to set and measure progress towards goals, inform program refinements, and ideate growth opportunities.
- Assume responsibility for conceptualizing, originating drafts, proofreading, and editing project-related source documents for professional and public consumption, including educational materials, brochures, posters, presentation materials, and manuscripts for publication.
