Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs basic technical and advisory work in the repair, maintenance, and calibration of general diagnostic, therapeutic, and ancillary imaging devices, or systems. In conjunction with the Imagining Service Technician II, Imaging Service Technician III, or a radiation physicist, performs quality assurance testing and calibration. Communicates effectively and regularly with stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Five years of progressively responsible experience with medical equipment service, associated networking, and electronics knowledge.
- Associate of Applied Science Degree or completion of a Biomedical Technician Certificate Course is preferred. Education will be verified.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
- Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
- May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs.
For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Basic understanding of diagnostic, therapeutic, and ancillary imaging equipment, human anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of basic troubleshooting and repair techniques to perform service on diagnostic, therapeutic, and ancillary imaging equipment.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance procedures on low/medium risk diagnostic, therapeutic, and ancillary imaging equipment.
- Possess the skill to utilize tools and test equipment required for job duties and responsibilities
- Adherence to confidentiality requirements and safeguarding of protected health information (PHI).
- Competent in using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for documentation.
- Basic understanding of regulatory requirements pertaining to diagnostic, therapeutic, and ancillary imaging equipment.
