YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in, or graduate of, a recognized Clinical Genetics Technology program required.
- Experience in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and/or Microarray techniques preferred.
- Valid Nova Scotia College of Medical Laboratory Technology (NSCMLT) license or eligibility required.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates effective problem solving, organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a collaborative team environment
- Candidates must demonstrate an ongoing commitment to technical expertise and professional development.

This is a Healthcare bargaining unit position. Preference is given to bargaining unit employees for unionized positions. Responsibilities:
- PCR (including RT-PCR and fluorescent PCR)
- Sequencing, MLPA, RAD, Microarray, and NGS analysis
- Gel electrophoresis
- Problem-solves at a basic, operational level using an analytical approach
- Cytogenetic specimen set up, tissue culture and harvest
- Operates and maintains common laboratory equipment/instruments
- QA/QC procedures and documentation
- Performs duties in compliance with established operational policies, procedures and protocols and in accordance with safety guidelines and legislation pertaining to health care (i.e. WHMIS, TDG, OHS, waste management
