Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

  • As part of the CHAMP team, the purpose of the Clinical Informatics Coordinator is to facilitate clinical engagement and provide support in the advancement of the electronic health record
  • The Clinical Informatics Coordinator will review documentation, participate in process mapping of current and future workflows, and design and implement clinical information systems

EDUCATION:

  • Assesses staff learning needs related to CHAMP
  • Provides staff education/support for the integration of the Electronic Health Record
  • Plans, develops, and provides education sessions for staff (demo’s, one-to-one sessions, just in time teaching on the unit, e-learning and focus groups) to support Meditech 6.X go-live
  • Lends clinical expertise to project team to ensure optimal system and process design
  • Participates in the development and revision of the orientation program for new staff
  • Provides remedial programs to staff on request of the manager
  • Provides leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of education and training to clinical and administrative staff

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor Degree in a Health Related Field
  • Registered with appropriate governing body
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience in hospital environment
  • Strong presentation / facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of principles of adult education, and relevant experience in education and facilitation
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills required
  • Expert computer skills
  • Ability to function well within a team setting and independently
  • Strong project management and change management skills
  • Able to travel to various CHAMP sites, as required, throughout the project implementation
