POSITION SUMMARY
Clinical education is a foundational component of nursing education. Clinical instructors have a fundamental role in the education of nursing students, to ensure they are adequately prepared with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to work in a wide-range of practice settings and specialty areas and meet entry-to-practice competencies. We are currently looking for External Clinical Instructors.
The contribution of this role includes but does not limit to overseeing student performance and nursing skills attainment at different clinical placements in the Moncton area (long term care and/or acute settings), providing feedback, evaluation and monitoring students’ work and performance in the clinical environment.
The work schedule is flexible and would depend on the clinical schedules and your availability as well as your area of expertise to offer support in relevant clinical placements (ex: Medical, Med/Surg, Psychiatry, Family Practice, Rehab, Ortho, Emergency, Maternity and Child)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Be a licensed practical / registered nurse in good standing
- Current registration with the ANBLPN and/or NANB
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in high acuity settings
- Previous experience in teaching/instruction at an educational institution is an asset
