We have an exciting opening for a Band 8a 0.5WTE Clinical Lead to join us in Wirral Mental Health Support Team, Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service CYPMHS.
MyMind CYPMHS in Wirral are working together with families and community services to improve mental health through accessible, inclusive, specialist care and support, to increase children and young people’s potential and life chances. We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is passionate about improving the mental health of children and young people, and their families.
The Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties in Wirral Schools. The main focus of Mental Health Support Teams are:
To provide support & advise to school staff through consultation and training.
To provide evidence-based interventions for children & young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties on a 1-1 or group basis.
To provide schools in their development of a whole school approach
The post holder will work closely with the two Clinical Leads and the Consultant Clinical Psychologist to offer clinical leadership and strategic oversight to Wirral MHST. They will be responsible for a range of clinical governance activities, to ensure safe, effective and quality service delivery. The post holder will develop the workforce through clinical supervision, consultation, and the provision of continuing professional development. They will engage in a range of audit and service evaluation activities to encourage best practice and ensure positive outcomes for those who access our service.
We envisage that the postholder will lead on relevant projects within MHST, such as the Whole School Approach to Mental Health and Wellbeing within both primary and secondary schools. Understanding the speciality of low intensity CBT informed practice within the context of MHST is essential.
The post-holder will be based at Maple House, Birkenhead, though may also be required to work from our other bases across Wirral. The post is offered on a permanent basis.
