Description:

This role is open to consultant radiologists, senior radiographers and medical physicists.
We are seeking 2 clinical leads (0.2WTE each) to represent Imaging across East and West Midlands.
These posts will work with the Midlands Diagnostic team, Midlands Imaging Training Academy and both imaging networks (EMRAD and WMIN) to understand current clinical and operational challenges in imaging services, specifically around:
Improving productivity and utilisation to achieve 95% 6 week target across all imaging modalities
Understanding the consequences of new clinical pathways
Reflecting current challenges with workforce and skills

You will be an experienced consultant radiologist, diagnostic radiographer or medical physics clinical scientist , confident in representing your profession and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. You may be looking to take a step forward in representing imaging services in a wider strategic context and these roles represent an ideal opportunity to branch out. Remuneration will be at your current salary scale.

  • Provide clinical insight and leadership to the regional diagnostic programme and imaging networks to support the State of the Nation and recommendations from Professor Sir Mike Richards review of diagnostics, Diagnostics: Recovery and Renewal , including the separation of acute and elective services through the roll-out of Community Diagnostic Centres
  • Work across systems and with both imaging networks to deliver a clinically driven approach to improving outcomes that are in alignment with other national and regional priorities eg cancer and UEC.
  • To represent all professions and disciplines involved in imaging across the Midlands region.
  • Work with local and regional training and education providers including Midlands imaging training academy (MITA) in supporting a well trained imaging workforce with the skills to deliver services for patients
  • Ensure that regional imaging investments and services fulfil the GIRFT recommendations for best practice
