Look no further, HMP Norwich are looking for a caring and dedicated Clinical Lead.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE WILL BE WORKING 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK, MONDAY - FRIDAY.

About the service:
HMP Norwich is a local Category B prison that houses male prisoners that have come direct from court or police custody and is made up of several different wings. HCRG provide 24/7 healthcare services within the prison. HCRG provide both emergency and primary care. Social and Palliative care is also provided within one wing in the establishment. HCRG also provides a CSMS (substance misuse) service.
Main Responsibilities

Within this role you will:

  • Lead the existing team, using strong leadership and management skills.
  • Be responsible for the management, efficiency and effectiveness in the role to secure the best service to the existing service users. This will include the analysis and management of complex changing clinical situations.
  • Act as a change agent and innovator, planning, implementing and evaluating change to facilitate high quality health outcomes, pioneering new services where gaps occur.
  • Provide support and advice on Long Term Conditions and suggest strategies to improve and develop services across organisational and professional arenas.
  • Provide support and advice on frailty and ceilings of care, liaising with local services as needed to move the patient through appropriate care pathways/into end-of-life pathways, when appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

  • First level registration Current NMC registration.
  • Willingness & ability to study at Masters level.
  • Managerial, leadership and change management experience.
  • Broad knowledge of CQC legislation Desirable
  • Ability to undertake comprehensive patient assessments, implement appropriate nursing care and treatment and evaluate outcomes.
  • Able to function as a credible practitioner with expert clinical skills.
  • Computer literate, able to understand and interpret relevant clinical data and information.
  • Demonstrable Primary Care experience in care of people with long term conditions.
  • Experience of managing complex and rapidly changing clinical conditions.
  • Ability to assess acutely unwell patients and demonstrate ability to manage them effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Experience of managing teams.
  • Understanding of the Clinical Governance framework.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team player – able to work across organisations and structures.
  • Able to work autonomously and show initiative.
  • Ability to write concise, comprehensive reports.
