Job Description
The Access to Care Program is currently recruiting a full-time, permanent Clinical Manager to oversee the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program and the New Beginnings Clinic. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Clinical Manager will lead the daily operations of the team to ensure high quality care for patients and families. The role supports safety, quality, service planning and change management, and research initiatives. Additionally, the Clinical Manager plays a vital role in advancing organizational goals, fostering system leadership, and cultivating key relationships both internally and externally.
The Clinical Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities and performance of service staff, managing the budget, implementing and managing new processes and pathways, and overseeing patient experience and flow. Additionally, the Clinical Manager implements quality improvement initiative and supports the integration of research initiatives, fostering a supportive and therapeutic environment for patients. Committed to creating a psychologically safe learning environment, the Clinical Manager leads the development of a culture that addresses the learning needs of staff and students while ensuring compliance with the CAMH health equity and diversity mandate. This position is located at the Queen Street site.
Job Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in a health related discipline (e.g., nursing, social work, occupational therapy), or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred. The successful candidate will have at least five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with a focus in mental health and/or addictions preferred. Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is highly beneficial. Experience in managing patient care operations, overseeing interprofessional teams, and implementing quality improvement initiatives is important. Registration with a College as a Regulated Healthcare Professional is required as is specialized knowledge of mental health and addictions. Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise the work activities of others and to provide leadership, in addition to excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential as well as excellent writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare management software. The ability to work with persons of diverse ethnoracial and cultural backgrounds is also required along with conflict resolution skills. The ability to manage budgetary and statistical data and knowledge of human resource management practices in a unionized environment is also required. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
