Reporting to the Site Director, Cardiology, the successful candidate will provide leadership for the Cardiology Program at the St. Catharines Site. The Clinical Manager will be responsible for the human and financial resources including budget, cost containment, supplies and equipment and is responsible for planning, administration and departmental operations. Duties include the delivery of quality patient care and safety in accordance with established Program and Hospital policies and procedures, legislative requirements, Standards of Practice and the Interprofessional Strategic Plan. The Clinical Manager has responsibility and accountability for patient care and staff performance and is accountable for professional development, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives, customer service and risk management of the assigned areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or other Professional College
o Bachelor of Science in Nursing or other healthcare professional
o Two to five years of managerial/leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of educational training and experience
o Education and experience in Cardiovascular
o Previous experience in patient flow and bed management initiatives.
o Demonstrated knowledge of the RHPA and Individual Regulatory College Standards of Practice
o Demonstrated knowledge of Standards in Cardiac Care
o Working knowledge of the Public Hospitals Act, regulated legislation, labour agreements, hospital policies and procedures.
o Knowledge and application of evidence-based practice.
o Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
o Demonstrated ability to manage a large and diversified workload with often rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
o Evidence of effective customer service, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
o Demonstrated excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
o Flexible, self-directed and able to multi-task.
o Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in healthcare or business.
o Ability to work in a matrix model, i.e. program and site.
o Consistent and regular attendance required.
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
