NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership - Legal & Risk Services
We are seeking to recruit an experienced qualified lawyer (Solicitor / CILEx Chartered Legal Executive Litigator & Advocate / Barrister) in the fields of clinical negligence and/or personal injury to join our GMPI team.
The team manages clinical negligence claims against those engaged in the delivery of primary care services on behalf of Local Health Boards and NHS Trusts in Wales, including GPs.

Managing a varied caseload of clinical negligence claims on behalf of the NHS in Wales (including claims against GPs and GP service providers “GPs”), providing guidance to GPs and undertaking advocacy where appropriate.
Supporting clients in respect of patient Concerns/Redress matters.
Providing educational seminars/workshops, ad hoc advice and guidance to Trusts/LHBs/GPs to educate staff in relation to legal, clinical and risk management issues, practice and procedure.
Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the Scheme for General Medical Practice Indemnity “Scheme for GMPI”.
The successful candidate will be able to act in a minimally supervised role building on previous experience as a qualified lawyer. Supervision will be provided for high value complex claims.
