Description:

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an excellent client manner.
  • Analytical skills to extract key information from complex written records and reports.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and Pre-Action Protocol for the Resolution of Clinical Disputes.
  • Proficiency in IT, particularly MS Word and Outlook (Proclaim experience is preferred but not essential).
  • Attention to detail and a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, maintaining professionalism and integrity at all times.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and achieve financial targets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with colleagues, clients, and third parties.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree-level education is essential (LLB and LPC preferred).
  • Previous experience in medical negligence or civil litigation is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Paralegal to join our clients Clinical Negligence team. The role involves providing vital support to solicitors in managing cases and ensuring the smooth running of the department. This includes a mix of administrative and case-handling tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring efficient and accurate assistance to solicitors.
  • Provide exceptional client care, often supporting individuals who have experienced traumatic and distressing events.
  • Prioritise tasks effectively, balancing competing deadlines while maintaining high company standards.
  • Work towards KPIs and performance targets.
  • Assist with a range of legal and administrative tasks as directed by team members.
  • Attend offices across the region when required and provide cross-regional support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested to meet the needs of the firm.
