Key accountabilities include (not limited to):

  • Provide clinical expertise in the development and facilitation of learning within the Clinical Recovery Unit and MQ Health Academy
  • Provide evidence-based support to all nursing staff within the Angiography Unit to meet standards of care
  • Lead the development and facilitation of identified mandatory and continuing professional development education
  • Support standardised orientation processes with Nursing Unit Managers (NUM).
  • Coordinate and monitor pathways and progressions of nursing staff within Angiography.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the development of education resources within and external to the department

  • Demonstrates and practices effective verbal and written communication skills and hold proficient computer skills
  • Evidence of continual professional development (ie. courses commensurate in related fields) (desirable)
  • Post graduate qualification in education, clinical care, or angiography. (desirable)

Responsibilities:

We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join on a Full-time basis within our Angiography Department The ideal candidate will possess experience in developing and delivering clinical education, within Angiography. In this vital role, the CNE will be a key resource in advancing the careers of our staff by supporting training and development opportunities.
The Role
The CNE will collaborate closely with the MQ Health Academy and Angiography Nurse Unit Manager, to plan, develop, and deliver comprehensive education programs, both hospital-wide and within specific departments. A vital part of this role involves fostering a culture of development and inquiry to ensure the ongoing growth and progression of our nursing staff. The role encompasses on-floor teaching and coaching, as well as formal instruction. Therefore, a clear passion and enthusiasm for teaching and knowledge-sharing are essential. The successful candidate will employ a variety of innovative approaches to effectively engage and educate staff.
You will work alongside and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Accredited Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Cardiac Physiologists, Radiographers, and Administration Support Officers.

About You
You will have experience in developing and delivery of education at a departmental level, with the scope of supporting the ongoing development of nursing staff. You will hold strong communication skills and ability to adapt training to a mixed level scope of staff and applying suitable learning styles. The role will have you work collaboratively with staff and management on the needs of the department and demonstrate clinical and critical thinking skills. Having worked and delivered in preceptorship and other teaching roles will be highly regarded.
