JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Clinical Nurse Manager
Location: Saint Joseph’s Nursing Home, Ballymacprior, Killorglin, Co. Kerry
Reporting to: Director of Nursing
Job Purpose: To ensure the delivery of the highest standards of nursing and social care which meet the individual needs of each resident.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • BSc in General Nursing or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar.
  • Need to be on the Register of Nurses maintained by Nursing and Midwifery board
  • Previous managerial training and experience is an advantage or be willing to undertake a management course that supports the role.
  • Full understanding of HIQA and the Standards as they are applied to residential units for Older Persons
  • Knowledge of notifiable incidents to HIQA and responsible for completing the same
  • Knowledge of the Heath Act (Care and Welfare of Residents in Designated Centres for Older People) and Regulations 2009
  • Excellent Leadership, Organisational and Communication skills.
  • Sound decision-making ability.
  • Ability to motivate self and others and work on own initiative.
  • Ability to work well and promote a team environment.
  • Results driven.
