The Mental Health division of Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation Trust comprises of three directorates; Adult Mental Health, Mental Health Services for Older People and Specialist Services. We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist / Senior Specialist Mental Health Practitioner. The role is intended to promote and develop clinical excellence within the Community CAMHS South team and to enhance the emotional well-being of children and young people within Nottinghamshire through sound evidence-based approaches. The role’s purpose is also to support the delivery of high quality and safe patient-centred care through direct clinical work, joint working with professionals and delivering supervision.

The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) offers treatment for children and young people up to the age of 18 for mild to severe emotional and mental health needs. Our core purpose is to work with children and young people and their families/carers, who may be experiencing emotional and mental health disorders that have a significant impact on the child’s development and cause distress to the child and/or their carers. We aim to improve the mental health of all children and young people with the provision of a timely, integrated, high quality, effective, multi-disciplinary county wide service.
The post holder will work as a Clinical Nurse Specialist / Senior Specialist Mental Health Practitioner within the Community CAMHS South Team. They will hold an appropriate professional registered qualification (RMN, Social Worker or equivalent) and have experience in the supervision or mentorship of staff. They will have extensive experience of working therapeutically with young people and families as well as extensive experience of risk assessment and management. They will have an understanding and working knowledge of the CAMHS system as well as working knowledge and experience of the provision of therapeutic approaches for young people and their families.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and innovative individual to work as a Clinical Nurse Specialist/ Senior Specialist Practitioner in the Community CAMHS South team.
This team supports young people and families presenting with mild- severe mental health difficulties within Rushcliffe, Gedling, Broxtowe and the City of Nottingham.
This role will involve the assessment, care co-ordination and treatment of the most severe and complex young people on the Community CAMHS caseload.
The post holder will promote and develop clinical excellence within the Community CAMHS team to enhance the mental and emotional well-being of children and young people within Nottinghamshire through sound evidence-based approaches.
This role will support the delivery of high quality and safe patient-centred care, by working as a senior member of the team, both supporting with and actively working with the most complex cases on the team caseload.
It would be advantageous for applicants to have had further professional training in different therapeutic approaches.
You will be required to work closely with the Clinical and Operational Leads for the team to ensure quality and excellence in service provision.
A key element of the role will be to support the development and sustaining of a positive working culture within the team and the broader service to support clinicians in feeling valued, listened to, supported and provided with clinical learning opportunities.
There will be an expectation for you to carry out audits as required in order to evaluate quality of care provision and to formulate improvement plans as needed.
A working knowledge of risk assessment, safeguarding procedures, experience of working with the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act is essential. Experience of working with young people experiencing mental health difficulties is essential.
Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and good IT skills.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010
