The Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health (OCMOH) works within Alberta Health, across government ministries, with Alberta Health Services and with other stakeholders to facilitate processes, policies and programs that build healthy communities.
QUALIFICATIONS
University degree in Nursing and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience is required, as well as having a current registration in good standing with an Alberta professional college as required by the Health Professions Act.
Responsibilities:
The Clinical Policy Analyst reports to the Project Manager and plays a vital role in providing clinical expertise, policy analysis, and support to the work of the OCMOH.
This position requires a motivated individual with sound judgement, superior organizational skills, political acumen, leadership, critical thinking, and strong written and verbal communication skills, who can work both independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a collaborative team. Key Responsibilities:
- Applying health protection, communicable disease and immunization related research and knowledge to developing public health policies
- Researching, analyzing, and summarizing available evidence on existing and emerging public health issues from a variety of sources, including academic sources, grey literature, and social media
- Respond to correspondence and requests from the public, other departments to the Minister, Deputy Minister, and Chief Medical Officer of Health
