Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our NICU for a highly knowledgeable and motivated individual to join our education team. We are the lead level 3 NICU for Surrey, and part of the Surrey, Sussex and Kent Neonatal Network, providing expert care for 28 of the sickest and most complex babies, using the most up to date ventilatory support techniques.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about education and has a strong interest in continued learning and professional development. The ideal candidate will be flexible and creative in their approach to educating and working with others, be innovative and able to find novel solutions to problems when the need arises. You should be empathetic and approachable, demonstrating good communication skills with all members of the multidisciplinary team and families that we care for.
The role will require working in collaboration with our Clinical Practice Educators and the wider Trust Professional Development team, to provide education and training to all multidisciplinary staff. You will assist in the delivery of training programmes and work alongside staff in the nurseries, coaching individuals and teaching groups to deliver high standards of individualised care. You will recognise and escalate any concerns or skills gaps and work with the education team to resolve them.
Support and facilitate staff in clinical areas to identify opportunities for maintaining and improving standards of patient care.
Support the ‘professional development’ of nursing and healthcare staff within the clinical setting.
Support the Professional Development team in delivering clinical training to Trust staff as required.
In liaison with the Clinical Practice Educator promote a quality service using research and evidence based practice including the setting, monitoring and auditing of clinical standards.
Provide education and training to multidisciplinary team staff and assist in the delivery of training programmes for nurses to expand their skills.
