Description:

The role of the clinical facilitator lead is to work alongside an established team to facilitate the development , implementation, monitoring, evaluation and audit of nursing/midwifery/ ODP policies , protocols, guidelines and standards ensuring they all meet current practice and professional regulations.
To ensure students are supported in becoming competent and capable practitioners within their profession specific framework
To supervise and mentor student practitioners in the practice setting.
To ensure structures are in place to provide pastoral support to students who are experiencing professional / personal issues within practice setting.
Demonstrate clinical and practice expertise through personal practice and by leading by example
Advise and support existing practice learning support staff in the supervision and assessment of students
Understand key governance requirements for practice learning and support practice staff in ensuring these are maintained, escalating concerns as necessary
Understand the Standards of Proficiency and ensure that learners are supported to develop practice learning opportunities to enable them to meet regulatory requirements in line with curriculum outcomes and objectives, escalating concerns as appropriate
*This role also offer secondment is for 9 months and will be full time. It will not be a job share. You must also have full support from your line manager to apply for this secondment. *

The candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and professionalism, being able to work part of a team and having experience of working , teaching and supporting learners in practice.
The candidate must have extensive knowledge in teaching and supporting satff / learners at all levels. They must have current clinical crediability and demonastrate trust values including excellent communication skills and be proactive, motivated and passionate about developing and improving staff / learners and standards in practice.
Work in partnership with AHP teams to provide an environment conducive to learning.
Advice and support new and existing educators in the mentoring and assessment of students
Maintaining internal and external networks to facilitate learning
Use communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse settings in health and social care whilst supporting students in practice.
Working with educators and HEI professionals leads to deliver and develop plans to support AHP practice learning.
Liaise and escalate to Practice Educators any concerns that affect the practice learning environment or student learning experience.
Communicate and work with Health Education England (West Midlands), Education Providers and partner organisations to take forward the AHP faculty work streams.
Participate in the planning of curriculum development with education providers with reference to practice, as appropriate
Represent the stakeholders on external professional groups and network with colleagues from other organisations as appropriate e.g. Professional Regulatory Body visits, Quality Assurance Agency & HEEWM.

Working in collaboration with education providers to assist in the monitoring and review of learning environments and work with the education and placement providers’ to resolve any highlighted issues.

  • Provide feedback to practice areas regarding student evaluation of the placement and ensure that relevant actions planned are developed as appropriate.

Participate in research, monitor and review activities and promote the use of critical analysis of evidence based practice
