Responsibilities:

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The Clinical Procurement Manager will assist with implementation and maintenance of effective supply chain management of large animal, equine and small animal products for all CVS sites UK. They will have direct responsibility for achieving year on year external expenditure cost savings and service level improvements with selected suppliers with guidance from Clinical Advisory Committees, and they will line manage and motivate the purchasing data co-ordinator and Purchasing Administrator

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Purchasing & Supply Chain: Manage the procurement of essential medicines, ensuring reliable supply and cost efficiencies. Work with suppliers and internal teams to address supply challenges and optimise stock management.
  • Leadership: Oversee and develop the Purchasing team, providing coaching, support, and succession planning to maximise their potential. Foster a high-performance and customer-focused culture.
  • Strategy Development: Drive strategic initiatives to enhance customer experience, analyse competitor activity, and identify growth opportunities. Develop and communicate business area strategies to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Operations: Ensure consistent delivery of standards across all responsibilities, monitor performance through KPIs, and implement solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, internal teams, and Clinical Advisory Committees to optimise supply chains, negotiate pricing, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Team Collaboration: Ensure clear and timely communication, providing resources and support to deliver business initiatives effectively. Promote teamwork and alignment across divisions.
  • Marketing & Growth: Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to grow product brands, monitor trends, and exploit new market opportunities for profitable growth.
  • Leadership Excellence: Provide inspirational leadership, setting clear direction, driving teamwork, and embedding a culture of high performance, accountability, and recognition.
